4. Sew shoulder seams
- Sew and serge the shoulder edges at the same time using a 4-thread overlocker (or sew with a regular machine, then finish the edges with a standard 3-thread overlocker).

3. Stabilize shoulder seams
- To keep the shoulder seam from stretching: Apply a strip of fusible interfacing on a knit base, 0.5 cm wide and as long as the shoulder edge on the back piece, or place a strip of the same knit fabric under the overlock stitching.

5. Press shoulder seams
- Press the shoulder seam allowances toward the back.

7. Press placket seam
- Press open the seam allowance where the ends of the placket join.

6. Sew placket ends
- Sew the ends of the placket together. Seam allowance: 1.0 cm.

8. Fold and press placket
- Press the placket in half, matching up the edges.

14. Press sleeve seams
- Press the armhole seam allowance toward the sleeve.

13. Sew sleeves
- Sew and serge the sleeves into the armholes using a 4-thread overlock machine. (Alternatively, stitch with a sewing machine first, then finish the edges on a regular 3-thread overlock.)

12. Press neckline seam
- Press the seam allowance of the placket attachment toward the garment.

9-11. Attach neckline band
- Pin the neckline band to the garment’s neckline, making sure the notches line up. Sew the band to the neckline, clipping the seam allowance at the center front as needed. Allow 0.7 cm for the seam. Finish the seam allowance for attaching the placket to the neckline. Use a hook to tuck in any loose threads into the overlock stitching.

18. Stitch hem
- Stitch the hem of the long sleeve with a coverstitch machine. Use a hook to tuck in the thread ends along the seam.

17. Press side seams
- Press the sleeve-side seam allowance toward the back.

16. Sew side and sleeve seams
- Sew and finish the sleeve and side seams together using a 4-thread overlock machine (or, sew with a standard sewing machine first, then finish the edges with a regular 3-thread overlocker).

15. Press hem allowances
- Press a 2.5 cm hem allowance along the bottom of the longsleeve and the sleeve cuffs.

19. Hem sleeves
- Using a flatlock machine, sew a line along the bottom edge of the sleeve. Use a hook to tuck the thread ends neatly into the seam.
