Step 2: Sewing the Pockets with Flaps - Attaching & Forming
- Use the straight pocket lining (with a fold). Sew the open edge of the lining to the bottom edge of the pocket frame. Fold the pocket lining in half at the fold line to cover the back of the frame. Stitch the sides and bottom of the pocket lining without catching the pocket frame.

Step 1: Preparing the Pieces - Cutting the Fabric
- Lay out the patterns on the main and lining fabric, respecting the grainline direction. Cut out all pieces, adding seam allowances of 1.5 cm and a 4 cm hem allowance.

- Interface the upper collar, front facings, pocket openings, and coat fronts with fusible interfacing. Use a pressing cloth to avoid damaging the fabric.

Step 2: Sewing the Pockets with Flaps - Marking & Preparing
- Transfer the pocket placement lines to the front coat pieces using chalk. Fold the pocket frame pieces right sides together and stitch along the short sides. Turn right side out, press, and align on the pocket placement lines.

Step 5: Joining the Lining with the Coat
- Place the coat and lining right sides together. Pin and sew along the coat fronts, neckline, and hem. Fold up the coat hem by 4 cm and press. Hand stitch the hem. Attach the lining to the hem with a small allowance, leaving a bit of ease so the lining hangs freely.

Step 6: Final Finishing - Pressing & Buttons
- Thoroughly press all seams and edges using a pressing cloth. Mark and sew the buttonholes on the coat fronts. Hand-sew the buttons in place.

Step 3: Assembling the Main Coat - Side and Shoulder Seams
- Pin and sew the side and shoulder seams of the coat. Press seams open.

- Sew the sleeve seams, press open, and pin the sleeves into the armholes, matching notches. Stitch the sleeves to the coat and press the seams.

Step 3: Assembling the Main Coat - Attaching the Collar
- Sew the upper and undercollar pieces together, right sides facing. Trim the seams, turn, and press. Attach the collar to the neckline, sandwiching it between the main coat and facings.

- Sew the lining pieces together along the side and shoulder seams. Press open. Attach the sleeves to the lining, leaving an opening in one sleeve seam for turning the coat later.
