Cut out the fabric pieces
- Cut out the fabric pieces using the pattern. Mark all notches by making 3mm cuts through all fabric layers at the seam allowances, keeping everything symmetrical.

Sew the bust darts
- Sew the bust darts on the front pieces, press them flat, then press them downward.

Serge the center back seam
- Align the center edges of the back pieces. Serge them together, trimming off any excess seam allowance as you go. If you don’t have a serger, you can finish the edges with a zigzag stitch instead. Many knit fabrics don’t fray at the cut edge, so you can skip finishing altogether! For seams, a zigzag stitch works well—set the width and length to 0.5*1.5, or use any other stretch stitch your machine offers.

Sew sleeve seams
- Serge the inner seams of the sleeves, trimming any excess allowance as you go. Press the seam allowances toward the front.

Sew shoulder and side seams
- Align the front and back pieces at the shoulder seams. Baste together, then sew with an overlocker, trimming any excess seam allowance. Press the seam allowances toward the back. Sew the side seams and press those allowances toward the back as well.

Hand stitch sleeve hems
- Finish the sleeve hems by hand using light, invisible stitches for added stretch.

Finish sleeve hem raw edges
- Finish the raw edges of the sleeve hems and press the seam allowance up.

Attach facing to neckline
- Attach the facing to the neckline using an overlock machine, trimming any extra seam allowance as you go. Press the finished neckline for a crisp look.

Baste facing to neckline
- Align the edges of the facing and neckline, making sure all notches line up. Match the facing seam to the center back. Evenly distribute the tension and baste the facing in place.

Sew facing short edges
- Sew the short edges of the facing together on the wrong side using a straight stitch machine, then press the seam allowances open.

Attach sleeve
- Attach the sleeve using a serger. For easier sewing, trim any excess seam allowance down to the width of the serger stitch and remove the blade from the machine.

Baste sleeve into armhole
- Insert the sleeve into the armhole with right sides facing each other. Align the raw edges and matching marks, then baste the sleeve in place. Make sure the seam allowances of the side seam and the sleeve’s inner seam are pressed in opposite directions.

Finish dress hem raw edge
- Finish the raw edge at the hem of the dress. Press the seam allowance for the hem.
