Pattern Transfer and Cutting
- Transfer the pattern pieces onto the fabric, making sure to follow the grainline and any pattern alignment. Cut out the required pieces from both the main fabric and the lining according to the pattern. Mark the darts and transfer all guide marks, making 3mm snips through all layers of fabric, keeping them symmetrical. Make snips at the center back. If you're fusing entire pieces, be sure to add all markings and guide snips after fusing.

Interfacing
- Fuse the pieces as indicated on the pattern: front facing, back neckline facing, and bottom edge facing.

Front Bust Darts
- Sew the bust darts on the front piece, press and press them downwards.

Assembling the Outer Shell
- Align the edges of the front, side panel, and back along the seams with right sides together. Match the notches, pin securely, and sew. Press the seam allowances open.

Back Shoulder Darts
- Sew the shoulder darts on the back piece, press them, and press the seams toward the center.

Armhole Reinforcement
- On the wrong side, reinforce the armhole edges with bias fusible tape. Beforehand, make a few small snips along the tape where it curves (at the side panel area).

Assembling the Lining
- Sew the shoulder and bust darts on the lining pieces. Join the front, side, and back lining sections along the seams, just as you did for the outer fabric. Press the seam allowances open.

Creating Lining Pleat
- Align the edges of the lining and facing pieces using the guide notches. Fold the extra fabric at the bottom of the lining into a pleat, as shown in the photo.

Attaching Back Neckline Facing
- Sew the neckline facing to the back lining, matching the pieces with right sides together. Press the seam allowance toward the lining.

Attaching Bottom Facing to Lining
- Align the lower edge of the lining with the top edge of the bottom facing, matching up the notches and placing right sides together. Pin in place. Stitch, leaving an opening at the center back (from and to the middle of the side panel) for turning the garment right side out.

Pressing the Facing Seam
- Attach the facing, then press the seam allowance toward the lining.

Trimming and Notching Front Edges
- Trim the seam allowance at the corners of the front edges. Make small notches along the neckline seam allowances, stopping 1-2mm before the stitched seam.

Joining Outer Fabric and Lining
- Place the outer fabric and the lining right sides together. Align all edges and make sure the seams match up. Pin everything securely in place. Sew the lining along the edge of the garment, stopping about 3–4 cm short of the shoulder seams. Stitch around the armhole edges, again leaving 3–4 cm before reaching the shoulder seams. Join the edges at the back neckline, stopping 3–4 cm before the shoulder seams.

Clipping Neckline and Armholes
- Clip the seam allowances around the back neckline and armholes, stopping about 1-2mm before the stitch line.

Trimming Bottom Facing Curves
- For the curved section at the bottom of the facings, trim the seam allowances down to 0.5 cm and clip the corners of the allowance.

Sewing Shoulder Seams
- Sew the shoulder seams on both the lining and the main fabric. Press the seam allowances open.

Aligning Shoulder Edges
- Align the shoulder edges of the back and front pieces. Do the same with the shoulder edges of the front and back linings.

Finishing Armhole and Neckline Seams
- Without turning the garment inside out, pull the strap upward. Finish sewing the upper and lining seams at the armhole and neckline.

Turning Right Side Out
- Turn the vest right side out through the opening left in the lining and bottom facing seam.

Understitching Seam Allowances
- Stitch the seam allowances to the lining, keeping close to the seam. Access the allowances through the opening left for this step: Along the armhole, stop sewing about 4-5 cm before you reach the shoulder seams. Stitch along the neckline, leaving 4-5 cm before the shoulder seams and 2-3 cm before the corner of the front edge. Sew along the back neckline, also stopping 2-3 cm short of the shoulder seam. Sew along the front edge and the entire bottom line in one continuous stitch.

Securing Curved Seams
- From the inside (between the layers), hand-stitch the seam allowances of the outer fabric and lining together along the curved seams.

Pressing and Shaping Edges
- Press the garment, shaping a slight edge on the top pieces.

Reducing the Turning Opening
- Reduce the turning opening to 10 cm. From the inside of the piece, continue stitching the lining and lower facing on both sides evenly, leaving a 10 cm unstitched section at the center back.

Final Pressing and Closures
- Press the garment to finish. Mark the buttonhole placements on the right front panel and the button placements on the left front panel. Stitch the buttonholes and sew on the buttons.

Hand-Stitching Bottom Facing
- From the inside (through the opening you left), hand-stitch the seam allowance of the bottom facing to the seam allowance of the upper panels.

Closing the Opening
- Close the opening by hand using invisible stitches.
