Basting stitch
A temporary, long stitch used to hold fabric in place before sewing the permanent seam.
Where it is used
Basting Binding
p. 19- Baste the pressed edge, positioning it so that it covers the seam line by 0.1 cm. Tuck the end of the tie inside the edge.

Basting Waist Edges
p. 18- Re-pin and start basting all three raw edges of the waist together. The jumpsuit trousers are located between the bodice and the bodice lining layers. Stitch on the sewing machine.

Basting the Stand
p. 4- Pin the lower edges of the stand, aligning the edges, and baste. It is important to match the seams.
