Bust dart
A stitched fold on the lining front that shapes the garment around the bust.
Where it is used
3. Trim the dart seam allowance
p. 2- Trim the dart seam allowance along the marked line on the front piece and the front lining.
Marking Bust Darts
p. 9- Mark the placement of the bust darts on the front panel from the wrong side according to the markings on the front panel pattern.
Pressing Bust Darts
p. 10- Press the allowances of the bust darts towards the center of the panel.

p. 5- Press the dart seam allowance upward.

p. 5- Sew the bust darts on the front panel.
Pressing Bust Darts
p. 5- Press the bust dart allowance on the front piece upwards, and press the dart allowance on the front lining piece downwards.

Marking Bust Darts
p. 6- Mark the placement of the bust darts on the panel from the inside, following the pattern markings.
Stitching Bust Darts
p. 7- Stitch the bust darts on the front piece.
Pressing Bust Darts
p. 7- Press the allowance of the bust dart upwards.
Sew the bust darts
p. 5- Sew the bust darts on the front pieces, press them flat, then press them downward.
Transferring markings
p. 1- On the wrong side, transfer the dart lines and the center front line from the pattern; if necessary, you can place a hand stitch along the center line so it is not lost during the sewing process.
