Cuff ring seam

A 1.0 cm seam used to join the cuff edges into a circular ring before attaching them to the sleeves.

6.8. Pinning cuffs to sleeve

6.9. Stitching cuffs to sleeve

  1. Stitch the cuffs to the sleeve hem and serge at the same time on a 4-thread overlock. Seam allowance: 0.7 cm. Using a hook, tuck the serger tails into the coverstitch from the wrong side.

  1. Fold each cuff in half with the right sides facing in, then sew the short edge together. Sew the short edges with a straight stitch, keeping a 7mm seam allowance from the edge. Then, press the seams open.

Attaching cuff to sleeve

  1. Insert the cuff into the sleeve with right sides facing each other, aligning the seam allowances. Once stitched, turn the cuff right side out. Secure the cuff in place with pins, then sew an overlock stitch BETWEEN the lines used to tighten the sleeve. Stitch along the cuff side.
