Flatlocked hem

A stretchy, flat hem finish created using a flatlock machine, ideal for thin knits.

  1. Stitch along the bottom edge of the garment using a flatlock machine. Use a hook to pull the thread ends to the wrong side within the seam.

Hemming

  1. Pin the hem of the sleeve and the garment, baste in place. Hand-stitch the hem. Tip: When using thin and stretchy knit fabrics, the garment hem and sleeve hem should be finished on a flatlock machine.
