10. Stitching bottom hem

  1. Stitch along the bottom hem of the T-shirt using a coverstitch machine. If you don’t have a coverstitch machine, you can serge the raw edges first and then sew the hem on a regular sewing machine. Pull the thread tails on the wrong side through the coverstitch using a hook.

  1. Use a double needle to stitch on the sewing machine. Sew from the right side of the dress, making sure to secure the stitches at the beginning and end. During the sewing process, your hand-basted stitches will act as a guide—basting stitches should run exactly between both needles. Remove all basting stitches once finished. Press the seam flat.
