Pattern marking transfer
Transferring notches, gathering points, and other pattern markings onto the fabric pieces before assembly.
Where it is used
Transferring Dart and Center Front Lines
p. 1- On the wrong side, transfer the dart lines and the center front line from the pattern; if necessary, you can place a hand stitch along the center line so it is not lost during the sewing process.
Transfer Collar Seam Marking
p. 9- Zip up the zipper, then transfer the collar seam marking to the opposite tape.
Cutting and Marking
p. 3- Cut strictly following the direction of the knit columns (or nap). Mark all notches on the pattern pieces using tailor's chalk or temporary basting threads to ensure even alignment during assembly.
Pattern Transfer and Cutting
p. 5- Transfer the pattern pieces onto the fabric, making sure to follow the grainline and any pattern alignment. Cut out the required pieces from both the main fabric and the lining according to the pattern. Mark the darts and transfer all guide marks, making 3mm snips through all layers of fabric, keeping them symmetrical. Make snips at the center back. If you're fusing entire pieces, be sure to add all markings and guide snips after fusing.
