Pocket bag construction
Assembling and attaching the pocket facing and pocket bags to the front pants.
Where it is used
Attaching Pockets to Front and Back Panels
p. 4- With right sides together, align the front panel and pocket pieces, matching their short edges to the sides of the cardigan front. Pin together, aligning the notches, and sew the pockets onto the front panels. Repeat this process to align and sew the pockets onto the back panel pieces.

p. 4- Pin the lower pocket bag edge to the upper one, with right sides together, aligning the edges.

p. 5- Secure the pocket seam allowances along the side and top edges.

2. Pocket Construction - 2.8
p. 5- Press the pocket with an iron.

2. Pocket Construction - 2.7
p. 5- Stitch the curved edge of the pocket bags together. Allow a seam of 1.0 cm.

1.2. Interfacing pocket opening
p. 5- Fuse a 1.0 cm-wide strip of interfacing to the pocket opening edge on the front pant pieces, on the wrong side.

1.3. Interfacing fly allowance
p. 5- Fuse the fly interfacing to the fly allowance on the right front pant piece from the wrong side.

2.7. Sew upper pocket bag
p. 7- Sew the upper pocket bag with the facing to the pocket opening edge, leaving a small step at the end. Seam allowance: 0.7 cm.

2.4. Topstitch pocket facing
p. 7- Topstitch the pocket facing to the upper pocket bag all the way around, stitching 0.2 cm from the edges.

2.12. Stitch pocket bags together
p. 9- Stitch and simultaneously serge the upper and lower pocket bags together on a 4-thread overlock along the curved edge, matching the edges and notches. Seam allowance: 0.7 cm.

Assembling the Pocket
p. 2- Place the side piece right sides together with the burlap, matching up the edges along the seam line. Sew the pieces and finish the seam allowances together.

Finishing Central Edges and Marking Center Lines
p. 3- Finish the central edges of both halves, gently stretching the curved areas as you go. Mark the center lines on the front halves of the pants from the right side.
