Pocket entrance stabilization
Applying adhesive bias tape to the pocket openings on the front skirt and shorts to keep them structurally stable during wear.
Where it is used
Interfacing and Edge Reinforcement
p. 1- Completely interface the front and back waistband pieces. Apply bias fusible seam tape to the wrong side of the neckline edges for the front and back bodice pieces. Reinforce the left side seams where the zipper goes on the left front bodice, front skirt, and back skirt with straight-grain fusible tape.

Securing Inner Waistband
p. 8- Fold the inner waistband edge with the pressed allowance so it overlaps the waistband-to-skirt seam by 0.2 cm. Pin and baste in place.

Reinforce Slit Area
p. 3- Reinforce the seam allowances around the slit area on the back pieces. To do this, measure up about 1.5 cm from the control point at the top of the slit and mark a new line with tailor's chalk. Apply the stabilizer from this mark down to the bottom edge of the dress, attaching it to the wrong side of the fabric.

Inserting Elastic and Closing Openings
p. 13- Measure and cut elastic tape into two pieces. Insert the elastic into the sleeve casing, overlap the ends by 1.0 cm, and secure them by hand or with a zigzag stitch. Sew the pocket opening from the front side, then press the seam flat.

3. Secure Pocket and Front
p. 3- Match and secure the pocket and front along the top and side edges. They should lie flat together.

8. Attach Waistband to Skirt
p. 4- Attach the waistband to the skirt. The back of the skirt has a slight ease relative to the waistband. Direct the allowances towards the waistband and topstitch with a decorative stitch 5-7mm wide.

10. Strap Preparation
p. 12- Stitch a decorative seam along the edges of the straps at 0.1 cm.

30. Waistband Assembly
p. 17- Install the grommets on the outer waistband using the special device.

Step 3: Topstitching Front Half
p. 3- Topstitch the front half of the shorts with a large machine stitch on the skirt, along the waistline, along the pocket opening, along the side edge.

Step 6: Attaching Pocket to Entrance
p. 3- Stitch the edge of the pocket entrance on the skirt + shorts (two layers together) pocket burlap with a side. Sew seam allowances onto the burlap 1-2mm.

Step 11: Attaching Waistband
p. 4- Attach the waistband 007 on the outer side to the waist edge of the shorts, placing them right sides together. Press the seam allowances up towards the waistband.

Step 7: Securing Side Panel
p. 4- Secure the side panel with burlap and the front half of the skirt and shorts together along the side seam with a temporary stitch.
