Shoulder seam construction
Pinning, sewing at 1.0 cm, serging, and pressing shoulder seams toward the back.
Where it is used
14. Sew shoulder seams
p. 6- Sew the shoulder seams using a 4-thread overlock machine (or sew with a regular machine first, then finish the edges with a standard 3-thread overlock).

15. Press shoulder seams
p. 7- Press the shoulder seam allowances toward the back.

18. Attach sleeves
p. 10- Attach and serge the sleeves to the armholes in one step using a 4-thread overlock machine (alternatively, sew with a standard machine, then finish the edges with a regular 3-thread overlock).

21. Sew sleeve-side seams
p. 10- Sew and serge the sleeve-side seams together using a 4-thread overlock machine (or sew with a regular sewing machine first, then finish the edges with a standard 3-thread overlock).

19. Press armhole seam
p. 10- Press the armhole seam allowance toward the sleeve.

22. Press sleeve-side seam
p. 11- Press the sleeve-side seam allowance toward the back.

Press Shoulder Seams
p. 4- Press the seam, then press the seam allowances towards the front.

Stitch Shoulder Seams
p. 4- Place the front and back pieces together with right sides facing, matching the shoulder edges. Pin together from the back piece side. Stitch the pieces together using an overlock machine set for four-thread stitching. Sew with the back piece facing up.

Sew Sleeve Seams
p. 6- Turn the sleeves inside out, matching up the edges. Pin them in place. Use a serger to sew the seam, starting from the back of the sleeve. The front of the sleeve is marked with a notch along the sleeve cap.

Attach Collar to Sweater
p. 6- Place the collar (unfinished edge) right sides together with the sweater, aligning the neckline edges and matching all guide points. Pin in place. Sew the collar to the sweater using a sewing machine, with a 1.0 cm seam allowance.

Sew Sleeves
p. 7- Sew the sleeves with an overlocker. Stitch from the sweater side.

Check Zipper Alignment
p. 9- Zip it up and check that the collar seam is even on both sides. Press to finish.
