Sleeve casing
A folded and stitched channel at the sleeve hem designed to hold elastic tape.
Where it is used
Stitching Sleeve Hem Casing
p. 12- Topstitch the casing from the right side, sewing 0.1-0.2 cm from the inner folded edge. Leave a 2 cm opening near the side seam to insert the elastic.

Inserting Sleeve Elastic
p. 13- Thread the measured elastic through the casing opening. Overlap the ends by 0.5 cm and stitch them securely together to form a loop.

Closing Elastic Opening
p. 13- Distribute the gathers evenly, then sew the opening of the casing closed on the machine.

2. Sleeves 004
p. 4- Turn/press the upper sleeve edge seam allowance to the inside 5-7mm. Fold the elastic casing inside along the notches and baste, then topstitch. Press.

5. Insert elastic into sleeve
p. 4- Insert elastic tape into the upper sleeve casing. The tape length is 22-27 cm per sleeve depending on size. Secure the tape at the sleeve cap.

Hemming Cardigan and Preparing Sleeve Casing
p. 12- Sew down the hem allowance at the bottom edge and press flat. On the folded sleeve allowance, mark a 2.0–2.5 cm wide opening for inserting elastic. Stitch the sleeve hem allowances, leaving the marked opening unstitched, and press.
