Turn-and-stitch armhole finish
An alternative armhole finish for heavier fabrics, pressing the allowance inside and flatlocking.
Where it is used
Stitching the sleeve hems
p. 10- Stitch along the bottom edge of the sleeve using a flatlock machine. Use a hook to pull the thread ends to the inside, hiding them in the seam.
Gathering Armhole
p. 7- Gather the basting stitch, easing the section by 1.0 cm. Tie knots at both ends.
Pressing Armhole
p. 9- Press the armhole with an iron. * For garments made with heavier fabrics, you can skip binding the armholes. Instead, press the seam allowances toward the inside and secure them with flatlock stitching.
Securing Armhole Seam Allowance
p. 11- Sew the seam allowance at the armhole area, pressing the allowance toward the back.
