Twin needle stitching

A technique used to create stretchy, professional-looking hems on a standard sewing machine.

  1. Sew a line using a twin needle on your machine. Stitch from the right side of the fabric. While sewing, use your hand-basted stitches as a guide—the basting should run right between the two needles. Press the seam flat.

  1. Sew a line with a twin needle on your machine. Stitch from the right side of the fabric. While sewing, let your hand-basted stitches guide you—make sure your basting runs straight and even. Basting stitches should go precisely between both needles. Press to finish.
