Flatseam machine

An optional machine used for professional, flat-lying hems on knit garments.

Use a flatlock machine to stitch along the hem of the sleeve and the bottom of the dress. If you don’t have a flatlock machine, finish the raw edges and then stitch using a regular sewing machine. Hide the thread tails on the wrong side with a hook.

Stitch along the lower edge of the sleeve and the hem of the garment using a flatseam machine. If a flatseam machine is unavailable, you can overlock the edges and then sew the seam with a regular sewing machine.
