Bias binding
A method of finishing raw edges using a strip of fabric cut on the bias to wrap around the edge.
Where it is used
Pin Armhole Binding
p. 5- The ends of the bias tape (about 2 cm each) should extend past the edges of the dress, just like you see in the photo. You can also pin the bias tape while gently stretching it to keep things even.
Basting Binding
p. 19- Baste the pressed edge, positioning it so that it covers the seam line by 0.1 cm. Tuck the end of the tie inside the edge.
Aligning Binding
p. 8- Guide it to the wrong side and align it with the seam where the binding was attached.
Basting Binding
p. 8- Baste the pressed edge of the binding, folding the attached binding over to the wrong side of the front and back pieces.
