Crotch seam assembly
Joining the left and right legs of the shorts along the curved crotch line.
Where it is used
Finishing Waistband Open Edges
p. 6- Finish the short open edges of the waistband pieces with a serger, then stitch from the right side and press.

Sewing the Crotch Seam
p. 3- Turn one shorts leg inside out and leave the other right side out. Place one leg inside the other so the right sides are facing each other. Pin along the crotch seam. Sew together using a serger. You can stitch from either side. Press the seam. Next, on the straight sections of the shorts, press the seam allowances so the right side of the overlock stitch faces you.

Sewing Crotch Seam
p. 6- Sew the crotch seam on a serger. Press the seam, then on the straight sections, press the seam allowances so the right side of the serged stitch faces you.

Pinning Crotch Seam
p. 6- Leave one pant leg turned right side out, and turn the other inside out. Place one leg inside the other, right sides facing, and align the crotch seam. Pin in place.

Hemming Pants
p. 11- Try on the pants and decide on the desired length. Finish the bottom edge with a serger, then press a 3 cm hem allowance to the inside.

15.1. Overlocking fly closure
p. 13- Serge the fly closure edge on the right front pant piece, stitching along the center seam 3.0–4.0 cm below where the fly begins.

15.2. Pinning center seam
p. 13- Pin the center edges of the pant legs together, matching the cut edges and notches, with right sides facing.

15.5. Overlocking crotch and fly
p. 15- Overlock the crotch seam allowance and the fly allowance on the left front piece, folding back the finished zipper-fly allowance of the right front piece.

Joining Trouser Inseams
p. 12- Place the front and back trouser pieces right sides together, aligning the inseam (crotch seam). Pin. Stitch on the machine with a 1 cm seam allowance, using backstitches (reinforcement).

Overlocking Crotch Seam Edges
p. 13- Serge/Overlock the crotch seam edges. Place the stitching on the right side of the trousers. Press lightly.

Joining Trouser Legs
p. 13- Turn one trouser leg to the right side; leave the second one turned inside out (wrong side out). Take the trouser leg turned to the right side and insert it into the second trouser leg (which is wrong side out), joining the legs right sides together along the crotch seam. Pin or baste, aligning the seams and control points for the zipper attachment. Stitch on the machine with a 1 cm seam allowance, using backstitches (reinforcement). Stitch from either side. Press lightly.

Pressing Crotch Seam Open (Front View)
p. 13- Then press the seam allowances open (to opposite sides) on the straight sections. View from the front.
