Decorative topstitching
A line of stitching sewn on the right side of the fabric, 5 mm from the seam line, to secure allowances and add detail.
Where it is used
Topstitch Neckline and Armholes
p. 5- Secure the seam allowances at the neckline and armholes to the lower layer of the top so it won't roll outward while worn. Mark matching reference points for where the stitching starts and ends. From each strap, measure 2.5 cm out to both sides. Press the seam allowances toward the lower layer and topstitch from the right side, catching the lower layer by 0.1-0.2 cm. At the beginning and end of each line of stitching, add neat backstitches.

Topstitch Armhole Edges
p. 6- Direct the seam allowances along the armhole edges toward the top's lower piece as well. Topstitch from the right side, stitching 0.1-0.2 cm onto the lower piece. Add backstitches at the beginning and end of the seam.

p. 21- Mark the fly topstitching on the right side of the closure.

Stitching Cut Finishing Line
p. 16- Stitch a finishing line along the cut, leaving a 1.4 cm gap from the pressed edge.

Sewing Decorative Knit Stitch
p. 20- Sew a decorative knit stitch along the top edge of the back and armhole trim on the front. And also the ties. Note: The edges do not meet at the top corner of the panel.

Topstitching Armhole Lining
p. 8- Direct the seam allowances onto the lining and topstitch on the right side of the lining, setting the stitching 0.1–0.2 cm from the seam line. After completing the stitching along the allowances, make clips/notches, stopping 0.2 cm short of the stitching line.

Topstitching Right Armhole Lining
p. 10- Direct the seam allowances onto the lining and topstitch on the right side of the lining, setting the stitching 0.1–0.2 cm from the seam line. Use backstitches (reinforcement). In two steps. After completing the stitching along the allowances, make clips/notches, stopping 0.2 cm short of the stitching line.

Topstitch Neckline
p. 9- Sew a decorative and reinforcing topstitch along the neckline at 0.7-0.8 cm, gently stretching the fabric as you go. Remove any basting stitches when finished.

Pressing and topstitching decorative strip
p. 8- Press the seam allowances toward the right side, then topstitch decoratively 5 mm to the right of the seam. Lightly press again. Repeat the same steps for the second sleeve.

Decorative Topstitching
p. 9- Sew a decorative topstitch along the armhole at 0.7 cm, securing the pressed edge of the binding.

Step 5
p. 7- Topstitch the shoulder seam, catching the allowances 0.5 cm from the seaming line.

p. 15- Topstitch the seams, catching the allowances, 0.5 cm from the seaming line.
