Pressing toward garment
Ironing seam allowances toward the main body of the garment before topstitching.
Where it is used
Pressing the side seams
p. 3- Press the side-seam allowance toward the back.

Pressing the top edge
p. 5- Turn right side out and press the top edge of the top, forming a slight roll from the front and back outer pieces.

Pressing the bottom edge
p. 6- Press the bottom edge of the top, forming a slight roll to the inside from the outer fabric on the front and back pieces.

Topstitching Sleeve Seam
p. 2- Press the seam allowance toward the front and topstitch it with a sewing machine, starting from the hemline up to where the allowance is attached, keeping the stitch 0.5 cm from the seam. Tuck the serger thread tails securely under the bar tack.

Pressing Raglan Seams
p. 3- Press the seam, then press the seam allowances toward the T-shirt.

Press Back Seam Allowances
p. 4- Press the seam allowances to the wrong side on any back piece (overlock stitching facing up on the right side). At the slit area, press the 0.7 cm seam allowances open in opposite directions.

Sew Left Shoulder Seam
p. 6- Stitch the LEFT shoulder seam of the dress with a serger. Sew from the back side. Press, then press the seam allowances toward the front.

Pre-press Hem
p. 7- Pre-press the hem allowance (3 cm) to the wrong side along the bottom edge of the dress.

Press Shoulder Seams
p. 4- Press the seam, then press the seam allowances towards the front.

Press Sleeve Seams
p. 6- Press the seam, then press the seam allowance toward the front.

Press Sleeve Armhole Seams
p. 7- Press with an iron, then fold the seam allowances toward the sleeve and press again.

Press Hem Allowances
p. 12- Press the 3.0 cm hem allowance for the bottom of the sweater and sleeves to the wrong side.
