Serging
The process of finishing a raw fabric edge with an overlock stitch using an overlocker (serger) machine to prevent fraying.
Where it is used
Sewing the Crotch Seam
p. 3- Turn one shorts leg inside out and leave the other right side out. Place one leg inside the other so the right sides are facing each other. Pin along the crotch seam. Sew together using a serger. You can stitch from either side. Press the seam. Next, on the straight sections of the shorts, press the seam allowances so the right side of the overlock stitch faces you.
