Topstitching facing

Stitching the seam allowances to the facing close to the seam line to prevent the facing from rolling to the outside.

Where it is used

Pin the side seams of the top, aligning the edges and notches, with right sides facing each other.

Pin the top and lining together along the upper edge and armhole curves, matching the edges and placing the wrong sides face to face.

p. 12

Mark the lines for topstitching the placket allowances. Measure 1.5 cm down from the placket attachment seam and mark a line. Extend the vertical placket attachment seam up to the marking line. Topstitch along the markings, catching the placket allowances from the wrong side.
