Tucking serger tails
The technique of pulling loose serger thread tails back into the seam using a sewing hook to prevent unraveling.
Where it is used
Tuck Serger Tail
p. 6- Bend the serger tail at the neckline toward the armhole and tuck it under the seam allowance fold.
Tucking Serger Threads
p. 2- Use a crochet hook or a knit needle to tuck the loose serger threads at the bottom between the layers of fabric. Trim off any threads sticking out at the top.
Finishing Sleeve and Cardigan Lower Edges
p. 11- Sew around the lower edges of the sleeves, leaving a thread tail, then tuck the thread ends into the seam and press the sleeve seam allowances upward. Finish the lower edge of the cardigan and press the finished seam allowance up toward the inside on the wrong side.
Hiding Serger Thread
p. 5- Using a large needle or crochet hook, weave the serger thread tail into the thickness of the knit fabric to hide it.
15.11. Overlocking fly facing
p. 16- Serge the vertical edge of the fly facing. Tuck the serger thread tails into the underlay stitching using a hook.
