A wide elastic band used to provide structure and tension inside the waistband of the sweatpants.

  1. Cut a piece of elastic tape, 0.7 cm wide. The recommended length is specified on the front lining pattern.

  1. Measure the elastic around your waist, then overlap the ends and sew them together.

  1. Insert the elastic into the waistband and sew two parallel lines using a sewing machine. Stretch the waistband so it matches the length of the elastic as you sew. Make sure the elastic sits snugly against the waistband fold the entire way around.

Cuff Construction - Step 16

  1. Measure the elastic band around your ankle—it should fit comfortably, not too tight. Sew the ends of the band together to form a loop, then insert it into the hem of the pant leg.
