Skirt lining
An inner fabric layer that encloses raw seams, finishes the hem, and provides a clean interior for the skirt.
Where it is used
3. Pinning Side Edges
p. 5- Pin the side edges of the skirt together, placing the fabric pieces right sides facing each other. Align the edges and notches as you go.

p. 7- Stitch gathering lines across four sections at the hem of the skirt, following the patterns for the front and back panels.
15. Lining Preparation - 15.1
p. 8- Pin the skirt lining's side edges together with right sides facing each other, aligning the edges and notches.

p. 8- Sew the side seams of the skirt lining, leaving a 10 cm opening to turn the skirt right side out. Allow a 1.0 cm seam allowance.
16. Pinning Lining to Hem
p. 10- Press open the seam allowances of the lining's center back seam on the skirt panel. Pin the lining to the skirt hem, matching the edges, skirt seams, and notches. Place the skirt and lining together with right sides facing each other.
17. Finishing Hem with Lining
p. 10- Finish the hem of the skirt with the lining. Allow a 1.0 cm seam.
19.5. Lining Pleats
p. 11- Pin and sew the pleats along the top edge of the skirt lining, matching the notches.
19.6. Pinning Waistband to Lining
p. 11- Turn the skirt right side out and smooth the lining. Pin the waistband edge to the top edge of the skirt lining, with right sides together, through the zipper opening in the center seam.
