Basting inner collar

Temporary hand or machine stitching to hold the folded inner collar stand in place over the neckline seam before final topstitching.

Where it is used

Baste the inner sides of the plackets. Make the hand stitching from the right side, landing the needle in the ditch of the placket attachment seam, and from the wrong side, catching the free edge of the placket at a distance of 0.7 cm from the edge (along the edge of the overlock stitching).

Baste the pressed inner edge of the collar stand over the neckline seam, overlapping the stitching by 2 mm.
