Neckline attachment
The process of joining the neckband/placket to the garment's neckline.
Where it is used
12.4. Pinning placket to neckline
p. 12- Pin the placket to the neckline edge of the front and back, placing it on the right side of the neckline and matching the reference points, edges, and notches.
9-11. Attach neckline band
p. 7- Pin the neckline band to the garment’s neckline, making sure the notches line up. Sew the band to the neckline, clipping the seam allowance at the center front as needed. Allow 0.7 cm for the seam. Finish the seam allowance for attaching the placket to the neckline. Use a hook to tuck in any loose threads into the overlock stitching.
12. Press neckline seam
p. 7- Press the seam allowance of the placket attachment toward the garment.
Preparing the Neckline Facing Placket
p. 9- Pin the neckline placket and the placket facing together along the neckline edge, matching the edges and shoulder seams, with the right sides facing each other.
Neckline Placket Finishing
p. 14- Pin the lower edge of the neckline placket to the neckline edge of the back and front pieces, up to the placket fold, matching edges, notches, and seams, with right sides together. Pin the section of the placket from the fold to the finished edge to the facing edge of the neckline placket. Align the vertical seam of the neckline placket facing with the placket fold.

p. 15- Pin the lower edge of the facing to the seam where the placket is attached to the neckline, and also pin the inside part of the placket to the seam where the outer placket is sewn.

p. 15- Sew the lower edge of the placket to the neckline edge of the front and back pieces, while also attaching a section of the placket facing to the inside of the placket closure. Press the seam allowances of the neckline placket seam open in opposite directions. Seam allowance: 1.0 cm.

p. 15- Press the seam allowances where the neck placket is attached toward the placket. On the section where the placket's inner part is sewn to the neck facing, press the allowances down toward the placket.

p. 16- Stitch a finishing line along the neckline placket seam, going all the way to the ends of the placket and sewing right in the seam groove, while securing the neckline facing at the same time. Then, sew along the placket seam for the fastening, staying in the seam groove and securing the inner part of the placket as you go.

p. 12- Secure the seam allowances. Allowance: 0.5 cm.
