Pocket opening assembly
The process of joining the front skirt with the pocket lining, trimming allowances, flipping, and topstitching.
Where it is used
Attaching Skirt to Waistband
p. 8- Place the skirt and bodice right sides together, matching the waist seam. Fold the inner waistband out of the way, pin, and sew with a 1 cm seam allowance.

Closing Elastic Opening
p. 13- Distribute the gathers evenly, then sew the opening of the casing closed on the machine.

Prepare Slit Corners
p. 8- Fold back the seam allowances for the slit. Turn the hem allowance up to the right side of the fabric. Pin along the short edge. Sew with a 0.7 cm seam allowance on the machine. Start stitching at the edge of the hem fold. Press with an iron.

Step 1: Sew the skirts
p. 3- Connect the front and back pieces of the underskirt along the side seams. Repeat the same steps with the top skirt (from the "Upper details" set).

Gather the top skirt
p. 4- Then you will need to gather the top part of the skirt (from the "Upper details" set) onto the bottom part along the waist line. Tip: To make an even gather at the waist, use a hand needle and thread, place the waist allowance of the top skirt on the needle and thread and pull it to the required length (tie a knot at the end of the thread so that it does not slip).

Stitch and finish the skirt
p. 5- After the assembly has been gathered to the required length, stitch the upper (gathered) part of the skirt along the waist to the lower skirt, and secure with a machine stitch. Finish the skirt: Make a hem at the bottom of 1-1.5 cm.

2. Pocket Construction in the Side Seams - 2.1
p. 3- Pin the pocket lining to the edge of the pocket opening on the front skirt panel, right sides facing together.

2. Pocket Construction - 2.3
p. 4- Clip the seam allowance at the corners of the facing.

2. Pocket Construction - 2.4
p. 4- Topstitch the seam allowance at the pocket opening, sewing 0.1 cm from the pocket lining side.

2. Pocket Construction - 2.5
p. 4- Press the pocket opening, folding the lining toward the inside of the skirt.

3. Pinning Side Edges
p. 5- Pin the side edges of the skirt together, placing the fabric pieces right sides facing each other. Align the edges and notches as you go.

11. Stitching Gathering Lines
p. 7- Stitch gathering lines across four sections at the hem of the skirt, following the patterns for the front and back panels.
