Shoulder seams

Seams that join the front and back bodice pieces at the shoulders.

  1. Place the front and back bodice pieces right sides together, aligning the shoulder edges. Pin and sew with a 1 cm seam allowance. Finish the seam allowances with a serger and press them toward the back.

Assembling and Reinforcing Shoulder Seams

  1. Place the front and back pieces together with right sides facing, aligning along the shoulder edges. Pin or baste, then sew the shoulder seams. Place silicone tape along the shoulder seam allowance, serge the seam and tape together, and press the seam allowances toward the back.
