Shoulder seams
Seams that join the front and back bodice pieces at the shoulders.
Where it is used
Joining Shoulder Seams
p. 3- Place the front and back bodice pieces right sides together, aligning the shoulder edges. Pin and sew with a 1 cm seam allowance. Finish the seam allowances with a serger and press them toward the back.

Stitching Shoulder Seams
p. 5- Stitch the shoulder seams using a French seam, similar to the back. Press the seams toward the front piece.

Assembling and Reinforcing Shoulder Seams
p. 6- Place the front and back pieces together with right sides facing, aligning along the shoulder edges. Pin or baste, then sew the shoulder seams. Place silicone tape along the shoulder seam allowance, serge the seam and tape together, and press the seam allowances toward the back.

p. 6- Place the back and front pieces right sides together, joining at the shoulder seams. Pin or baste. Stitch on the machine with a 1 cm seam allowance, using backstitches (reinforcement).

Sew Shoulder Seams
p. 6- Sew the shoulder seams using a 4-thread overlock machine (or sew with a regular machine first, then finish the edges with a standard 3-thread overlock).

Press Shoulder Seams
p. 7- Press the shoulder seam allowances toward the back.

Pinning Shoulder Edges
p. 8- Pin the shoulder edges together, aligning the cuts with the right sides facing each other.

Sewing Shoulder Edges
p. 8- Sew the shoulder edges. Allowance: 1.0 cm.

Pressing Shoulder Seams
p. 8- Press open the allowances of the shoulder seams.

Shoulder Seams
p. 1- Reinforce the shoulder seams of the front piece with bias-cut fusible stay tape. Stitch the shoulder seams from the front piece side. Press the seam allowances toward the back.

Shoulder Seams - Step 12
p. 11- On the front piece, mark the placement line for the back shoulder seam on the right side, 1.7 cm from the front shoulder edge.
