Making small cuts in the seam allowances of curved edges to allow them to lie flat when turned.
Where it is used
9. Clip corners diagonally
p. 5- Make diagonal snips at a 45-degree angle, stopping 1 mm short of the reference points on the panel piece.

Trim and Clip Seams
p. 4- Trim the seam allowances down to 0.5 cm; on curved areas, clip into the allowance, stopping 0.2 cm short of the stitching.
