Invisible stitch
A hand-sewing technique used to join fabrics invisibly, applied here to attach the collar and close the belt opening.
Where it is used
Hand Hemming
p. 10- Hem the bottom of the dress by hand using invisible stitches. Press to finish.

Blind Hem Stitch
p. 13- Stitch the hem allowances with a hand blind hem stitch.

Securing Hem
p. 11- Secure the hem allowance by hand using an invisible stitch. Press with an iron.

Closing the Elastic Opening
p. 7- Close the opening for the elastic by hand using invisible stitches.
Stitching the Hem
p. 13- Pin or baste the seam allowance in place. Stitch the allowance on the outside of the pants using the machine. Keep the stitch line 3.8 cm from the bottom edge of the pants. At the point where the stitching forms a circle, add a backstitch for reinforcement. Press the fabric to smooth it out. You can also hem the pants using a hand-sewn invisible stitch.
