Side seam assembly
Joining the front and back pieces of the shorts along the sides using an overlock machine.
Where it is used
Finishing Skirt Side Seams
p. 5- Finish the side seams of the front and back skirt pieces with an overlock, stitching from the right side, and press.

Finishing Bodice Side Seams
p. 5- Finish the side seams of the front and back bodice pieces with a serger, stitching from the right side, then press flat.

Sewing Bodice Side Seams
p. 6- Place front and back bodice right sides together. Sew the right side seam completely with a 1 cm seam allowance. On the left side seam, leave an opening for the invisible zipper, stitching only from the armhole to the zipper mark.

Assembling Skirt Side Seams
p. 8- Align front and back skirt pieces right sides together. Sew the right side seam completely. Sew the left side seam from the zipper reference mark down to the hem, leaving the upper section open for the zipper.

Sewing First Zipper Tape
p. 9- Using an invisible zipper foot, stitch the zipper tape in place from the top stop down to 2-3 mm before the skirt side seam starts.

Basting Invisible Zipper
p. 9- Pre-shrink the zipper. Unzip and place one zipper tape right side down on the right side of the dress left side seam. Align the tape edge with the seam edge and baste.

Sewing Second Zipper Tape
p. 10- Stitch the second zipper tape using the invisible zipper foot, starting from the top stop down to the lower reference mark.

Basting Second Zipper Tape
p. 10- Unzip and align the second zipper tape face down on the other side of the opening, matching the waistband reference marks. Pin and baste in place.

3. Pinning side seams
p. 5- Pin the side seams together, matching the edges and notches, with right sides facing.

4. Stitching side seams
p. 6- Stitch and serge the side seams at the same time on a 4-thread overlock. Seam allowance: 0.7 cm.

5. Pressing side seams
p. 6- Press the side seam allowances toward the back.

Marking and Preparing the Zipper Position
p. 2- Mark the position for attaching the zipper on the inside center front. If your zipper is shorter, adjust the marking to match your zipper's length by subtracting 8 cm (the collar stand's length) from the length of your zipper up to the bottom stop.
